The availability of so many apps has only worsened the situation of buyers because too much options confuse the consumers rather than helping them in their selection. However, if we think rationally, then the selection can get easier.
What needs to be the App Selection Criterion?
Most of us are muddled seeing a plethora of options front of us but what we don’t understand is that we don’t require all of them, they are just choices; we need to choose the one which cater our needs and satisfies our needs without compromising our budget. Let’s assume, there are 5 types of iPhone available in the market, it is obvious that you won’t go with all of them. The same goes with an app, there are innumerable apps available in the market; it does not mean that you will download each and every one.
Apps Resemble Food:
There is similarity between food and apps. For instance, you tend to choose the app which is of your liking and you really need it. It wouldn’t happen that you are going in a mall and randomly throwing food in your cart just because it’s kept there or someone else recommended you to buy it. Let’s consider the case of an app, which is used by your friend and you have noticed him using it. Unless you find it enticing enough, I really don't see a reason you should even consider downloading it.
Getting apps when we need them:
This is one of the best techniques for getting an app. It is recommended that not to download an app only just because your best friend told you to do so. If you really think that the app will be useful for you, only then go for it, else there is no need to spend your valuable time on it. The moment you find yourself in complex situation, then in that case you can straightaway start the search in Android market for apps. You can find apps like
Facebook,
Fooducate,
Tripadvisor and the
City Index app which can be a great help. You may even come across apps which you may use rarely such as
FlightTrack, the Elf Advent Calendar and
World of Goo.
