Whenever we try to sign up on Twitter account using an email address that has been occupied then Twitter doesn’t give you permission to create another Twitter account using the previously occupied email address. But what if you have only one email address and you don’t want to create another one. And if you have more than one Twitter account and you don’t want that all the notification will appear into several different email addresses. These are two problems that any user may face. In Twitter you can use one email address for creating multiple accounts. To accomplish that you must have a Gmail account.



The Gmail provides a facility to their user so that they can create aliases of their Gmail account and can use them as distinct email address. The feature of creation of alias of email address is one of the most powerful features of Gmail. We can create any number of aliases for a single email address and use them for making multiple accounts. For creation of alias of any email address we append “+anyString” after your username of Gmail and before the “@gmail.com”. For example rahulmishra@gmail.commis an email address then the alias for this email  address can be rahulmishra+alias@gmail.com. Now we will discuss the process of creation of multiple Twitter account using one email address.

• Creation of Label: by using label you can identify the mail coming for your alias email address. You can create any number of labels to filter out emails. To create a label login into your Gmail account using your Gmail’s username and password. After logging in just click on “create a filter” link that is next to the “search mail” field. Now you will get a form titled as “create a filter”. In the form you will get the fields named “from”,”to” and “subject”. Just put the name of your alias email address that you want in the “to” field and then click on “Next step” button. Previously I have taken the email  address”rahulmishra+alias@gmail.com” so I am putting that email address in the “to” field of create filter form. Now select the option “Apply the label” and then choose “New label”. Enter any desired name for the label and hit the OK button; you can give any relevant name for the label. And after pressing the OK button your label will be created.
• Creation of Filter: after creating the alias you will get the button name “create filter”. After pressing the button your filter will be created and all the mails coming for your alias address will come with the label you created for them. Just for testing that the alias is working or not just press the “compose” button on your Gmail. Then compose and email for the alias email address and just send the mail. If you didn’t do a mistake in the creation of alias or label then you will get the mail with the label.
